Soli found herself an orphan at five weeks old in a northern California shelter. The shelter was in a small town and did not spay or neuter dogs prior to adoption. Chako Pit Bull Rescue inquired about pulling the lone pup into rescue to provide early socialization, but the shelter chose not to release the puppy earlier than eight weeks. The shelter representative stated it would adopt the puppy out based on a random drawing of names from a list of everyone interested. When the pup turned eight weeks of age, Chako volunteers showed up and, sure enough, the shelter put names in a container and pulled one at random from the slips of paper. Soli was adopted out for a fee of $45, unspayed. Thankfully, she went to a Chako rescue volunteer and placed into a foster home. She was adopted and now has a wall of ribbons showcasing her accomplishments in nosework.
